Did you know that this week is National Chocolate Week? Although, it has to be said, who needs a special week to celebrate chocolate? Not me! If you are a lover of chocolate, then I have gathered tantalisingly tasty chocolate treats from all over the interweb – prepare yourself:
Truffle Bars from Chocolate Blush
Dipped Marshmallows from Choccywoccydoodah
Chocolate Flake Wedding Cake from Divine Wedding Cakes
Original Chocolate Brownies by Brownie Boo
The BIG Box of Chocolates from Amelie Chocolat
Hot Chocolate by Whittard of Chelsea
Last but not least, my local Willy Wonka chocolate factory, Thorntons, are celebrating their 100th birthday and to mark the occasion have produce the chocolate bar to beat all chocolate bars! It has broken the world record for the biggest in the world and weighs in at almost 6 tons – equivalent to approximately 75,000 Thorntons chocolate blocks!

After all that, I think I need to have a lie down!

If you use Twitter or Facebook, you may have heard about “Riot Raffle” - an online raffle set up by Zoe Andrews in response to the riots of August 2011. Zoe, like many others, wanted to help some of the victims affected by those riots and so appealed to independent designers/makers/crafters to donate a prize for the raffle. Over 80 fantastic prizes were pledged, tickets were sold online for just £1 each and Zoe raised a total of £1205, 100% of which has been donated to Retail Trust – a charitable organisation which helps small and independent retail businesses – many of whom were directly affected by the riots.
I was more than happy to pledge a prize to the raffle … and I was even happier after buying my raffle tickets, to win a fabulous prize! I never win anything, so was thrilled and especially as I had won something to make!! My prize was a fantastic needlepoint kit from Jolly Red, which has arrived safely and I can’t wait to get started on it. I could choose any kit to the value of £60 from Jolly Red’s website, so I chose a cushion kit called “Patchwork Cat” – I love cats, I love patchwork and its so colourful – perfect!

I have to say it was quite hard to choose which kit to have as there are so many beautiful kits on the Jolly Red website - pop over and take a look – I’m sure you’ll be inspired!! Hopefully one day I’ll be able to show you the finished item!! Watch this space
